Dr. McDonald is a Professional Geologist with over 45 years of mineral exploration and research experience, including 20 years providing technical advice to junior companies and 13 years as a professor at the University of Saskatchewan and the Australian National University. Dr. McDonald was Vice President, Exploration of Winspear Diamonds Inc., where he and his technical team were directly responsible for the discovery and development of the Snap Lake diamond deposit. Dr. McDonald was the first Director and co-founder of the Mineral Deposit Research Unit (MDRU) at the University of British Columbia. In 2000 Dr. McDonald received the HH "Spud" Huestis award for excellence in prospecting and mineral exploration from the BC and Yukon Chamber of Mines. In 2008 he received the Hugo Dummett Diamond Award for Excellence in Diamond Exploration and Development.
